Welcome to Macey's
Page!
August 1, 2005
I am always so behind on updating
this page, I know. But, really, there is good reason for that
- I'm pretty busy with Miss Macey who is officially a 2 year old
now! Anyone knows that a two year old is the busiest kid ever,
right?? ::smile:
Macey turned two on July 1st and
it's hard to believe that it's been a month since her birthday
already. Time seriously flies! She had a terrific birthday and
really loved it all. On her birthday she had her last day of "preschool
daycamp" at the church, so we sent in cupcakes, plates and
party hats for Macey and her classmates. They had a pool party
that day (inflatable pool at the church...hee!!), so the day was
amazing for her all the way around. On Saturday, July 2nd, we
had a party for her with our local friends at Chuck E. Cheese
in Marietta and everyone had a ball. Macey's "big" birthday
party was the following weekend at Nana's - it was a farm theme
party with mostly family and a few close friends in South GA.
Grandma, PePaw and Aunt Julie came in from Michigan for the big
event and we were all so happy to see them! Also attending were,
Nana & Poppie, Gran-Gran & Pop, Papa & Mimi, Grandma
Joyce, Charlie & Liz and Terri, Shane & Lexi. I'll post
pictures soon from the party. :)
Macey is just an amazing little girl
and continues to bless our lives beyond measure, of course. She
loves to talk (like her mama, right?) and has a vocabulary that
blows our minds. She also loves signing and knows more signs than
I can list, I'm sure. She tends to be shy when she's first in
a new place, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. Once she
gets going, she is quite the social butterfly.
She's also quite the mini-fashionista
and loves to wear dresses in the summertime since it's so hot.
Of course, she has her tomboy side too and likes to play outside,
so she has plenty of "play clothes" on hand at all times.
Some of Macey's very favorite things are our shoes which she loves
to clunk around the house in whenever she gets a chance.
Macey starts preschool soon too which
is unbelievable as well.
More soon,
Kelly

I really should update this page
more often. Macey really isn't a "baby" anymore. At
least, not if you ask her. HA!! She's 19M old now and is quite
the adventurous little toddler. She loves to walk, run, climb
and explore and knows no obstacle too big. She especially loves
being outside, so we hope to have a yard for her to play in soon.
Macey's 18M well baby visit with
her pediatrician was last month and everything went great! She
checked in at 25lbs 14oz (up only 13 oz since her 9M check) and
was 32 3/4" tall. She's still in the high percentiles for
height and weight, but has definitely begun to lean out as she
is way more active these days than ever before. She's sooooo much
fun!!
Macey has 18 teeth now - including
her first molars and incisors which were boogerish for her to
cut. She is quite the chatterbox when she wants to be too - being
her mama's child and all. (ha!!) She is also learning some sign
language and already knows five signs - milk, more, eat, go and
shoes.
Macey attends Mothers Morning Out
at a local church one morning a week and she loves it! Out of
a class of 6 kids, she is the only girl, so she has to really
stand her ground sometimes, but that is not a problem for her.
;) She really loves her teachers, "Miss" Beverly and
"Miss" Clair too. We have also recently registered Macey
for 2 year old preschool at our church which will start in Fall.
It's so hard to imagine our little girl in preschool already.
Where does the time go?
Macey's very favorite things in the
world are - milk (which she calls "deuce" [juice] but
signs for milk), bananas, meats, pasta, apples, pancakes, scrambled
eggs, Goldfish crackers and sometimes she gets a chocolate treat
which she loves. She also loves Baby Einstein, Sesame Street (especially
Elmo), Barney and dancing to The Wiggles. Macey also loves her
bathtime and has the best time playing in the tub every night.
I guess that's all for now. I really
will TRY to be better at updating this page.

July 21, 2004
I've been meaning to update this
page ALL month, so here I am at long last. :)
This month started out with big celebrations
for Macey's birthday. (Pictures on the pictures page, of course)
In so many ways, it's really hard to believe how fast the past
year has flown by and then in other ways it really seems like
Macey has been a part of our family forever. It's just amazing
that way.
Mickey's parents came down to be
a part of Macey's birthday weekend and it was so nice to have
them stay with us. Macey had all her grandparents (and three of
her great-grandparents) around her along with lots of other family
members and friends at her big birthday party on July 3rd in Albany.
The party was great fun and I believe everyone enjoyed it - especially
Miss Macey.
Macey had her one year "well
baby visit" with the pediatrician the week after her birthday.
She was up to 31" (up 2" from her last check-up) and
still in the 95th percentile for height. Her weight surprised
us - she weighed 25lbs 1oz when she was nine months old and at
her one year appointment, she was only up seven ounces to 25lbs
8oz. (Recall that this is the child that in the early months of
her life was gaining two to three pounds per month.) She remains
in the 95% percentile for weight though and is just leaning out
like toddlers do. Her pediatrician was VERY happy with how great
she is doing and the visit went great. She had blood drawn for
a CBC that day and the results were all excellent as well. HOORAY!!!
Macey is not yet walking, but is
taking more steps at a time lately. She will take a few steps,
get all proud of herself, giggle and topple over. Such a cutie!!
She can still crawl and cruise at the speed of light and is now
into climbing and exploring big time. She is also a real chatterbox
when she wants to be with her repotoire of words such as "da-da",
"ma-ma", "uh-oh", "baby", "no"
(nuh), "dog" (dah), "hey"/"hi",
and "bye"/"bye-bye." She also LOVES phones
and will pick up our cell phones, put them to her ear and pretend
to talk on them sometimes. She also likes to listen when people
call, so if you call us - you get to talk to Macey too. :) She's
also big on giving us kisses and also likes to love her baby dolls
and give kisses to pictures of babies, mostly herself. Definitely
a happy and very loving little angel!!
Macey and I recently spent a week
at Nana's house and got spoiled rotten by Nana and Mr. John so
that was great fun. Mickey was away on a retreat with the senior
high youth so us girls decided to take a little trip and we sure
did enjoy ourselves. However, I must say, we were also glad to
get home and especiall glad to see "Da-da" when he got
back too. When Macey saw Mickey after being away from him for
a week, she was the most ecstatic little girl EVER. As soon as
she saw him, she pointed and then leaned out as far as she could
to get ot him. Once he had her in his arms, she snuggled into
him and gave him big hugs and kisses. SOOOOOOOOOO sweet!
Well, that's all for now. I'l try
to update more regularly...promise.
Kelly
May 28, 2004
Yes, I've been a slacker about updating this page and I'm
sorry. I really need to try to do better about keeping it updated
and I will do just that.
Lots has been going on since my last
update. Macey now has 4 teeth - two on the bottom center and two
on the top center. She can also crawl, pull up and cruise all
over the place. Sometimes she stands on her own for several seconds
at a time. It won't be long before she's walking and running,
so watch out world. (smile) Macey has an inflatable pool in our
backyard and she just LOVES to play in it, she's quite the water
baby. She also likes riding in her backpack carrier on Mickey's
back when we go for walks around the block. We hope to do some
hiking soon. She is saying a few things like "da-da",
"mama" and "uh-oh." She can also wave bye-bye
and sometimes says something that sounds a lot like bye-bye too.
And, of course, Miss Macey is growing by leaps and bounds. Back
in March she weighed 25lbs so we're guesstimating that she's probably
around 26-27 pounds now. Macey likes to eat things more and more
each day and has a fondness for Cheerios and cut up carrots that
she can feed herself. She goes for her one year well-baby visit
sometime around the first of July, so it will be interesting to
see how much she has grown in a year.
It's so hard to believe our precious
princess is almost one. This has been an amazing year. Neither
of us ever realized how fast it would all go by, but it's FLYING.
Being a parent is the toughest but yet most incredibly rewarding
experience we can imagine and Macey is such a blessing every day!
Stay tuned,
Kelly

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope this finds everyone doing
great and enjoying the new year. So far 2004 has been good to
us on the whole. We have experienced some sadness already in the
passing of Mickey's Grandpa Vic. He passed away in Michigan and
we traveled up for several days for the services, etc. Although
the circumstances surrounding the trip were most certainly very
sad, we were happy to get to visit with family there and introduce
Macey to them all. While we were there it snowed A LOT, so Mickey
was thrilled.
Macey had her six month check-up
with the pediatrician yesterday and the news is all great. She
is above the 97th percentile for height and weight - checking
in at 29" and 22lbs. Way to go, Macey! Her pediatrician was
very pleased with everything and said he wishes all little babies
could be as healthy as she is. We are so blessed!
Macey is really growing and continuing
to thrive and be the happiest baby in the world. She has two bottom
teeth that are coming in now and even though they weren't exactly
easy for her, she didn't have too much of a difficult time either...knock
on wood. She is sitting up without assistance these days (has
been for over a month, actually...*brag*) and can lean down to
pick up thing and sit herself right back up again. She loves to
babble a lot and really wants to talk - being my daughter, that
comes as no surprise. HA! She has also recently started Mothers
Morning Out two mornings a week at our church and is enjoying
playing there on Mondays and Wednesdays.
That's all for now. Again, hope everyone
is doing great. Keep in touch.
Love,
Kelly

It's been quite awhile since I've
updated this page. I don't mean to be a slacker - it's just that
we stay pretty busy with Miss Macey, of course, and adding pictures
to the page mostly takes priority over posting. However, I will
try to do better and updating...I promise!
The latest on Macey is that she is
doing GREAT! She is really growing and thriving. She is such a
happy baby and is a complete joy to Mickey and me. We are blessed
beyond measure!! She now weighs 19lbs 4.5oz, so she has more than
doubled her birthweight in less than five months. Quite an accomplishment,
huh? That's our girl!! Her measurements are consistently over
the 95th percentile. WOW!!
We're so excited about Macey's first
Thanksgiving and Christmas too. Can't wait to share pictures with
everyone.
Happy holidays...
Love,
Kelly
July 17, 2003
Macey had her two-week "well
baby" check-up with her peditrician yesterday and the news
is all GREAT!! She is now up to 9lb 9oz (86th percentile) and
is 22 1/2" long (over the 97th percentile), so she is really
growing!! Her pediatrician said that everything looks great and
he is really happy with her progress. YIPPEE!! She has gained
back all of her birth weight PLUS 5 ounces and she has grown an
inch already, so we are all just thrilled with how she is thriving.
She's such a wonderful baby and continues to bless our lives beyond
belief. God is so good!!
'Til next time...

Macey
had a weigh-in appointment at the pediatrician's office today
and we're happy to report that she has gained back most of her
birth weight and is now at 9lbs 2.5oz! HOORAY! It's completley
normal for babies to lose weight after they are born and the pediatrician
likes for them to regain back to their birth weight by the time
they come in for their two week check. Well, Miss
Macey is ahead of schedule...she'll be back to her
birth weight probably by tomorrow or the next day since all she
has to gain is 1.5 oz to get back to 9lb 4oz. So, she is really
doing great!! We are absolutely loving parenthood and she is such
an incredible joy in our lives!!
Here are some recent pictures:
Stay tuned...we'll likely update
the site as soon as we can so we can have a better picture and
update page.

Things are going great here.
Macey is a wonderful baby - she is just such an
amazing blessing in our lives. She is changing so much - we notice
changes on a daily basis and it's all just so incredible. Being
a parent is a gift from God and we thank Him every day for our
precious little girl.
Stay tuned for updates and pictures
and MANY THANKS for all the thoughts and prayers.

Week 40 Update - BIG NEWS
Today's report is certainly a GREAT
one!! We had our week 40 OB check-up today and everything looks
wonderful! I am 3cm dilated, 70% effaced and the baby is at -2
to -3 station and turned the right way. All systems are GO and
we are set for induction tomorrow .We go to the hospital at 7:00
in the morning, but I'm not sure when the actual induction will
start and there is NO way to know how long it will take, of course.
However, we will get the word out as soon as we can after our
little sweetheart has made her arrival.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We'll keep you
all posted.
Love, Kelly

Week 39 Update
This week's OB visit report is a
promising one!! My blood pressure is good and the baby's heartrate
was in the 130s which is typical for her and very good.
I am 1 cm dilated and about 30% effaced and the baby is at -2
to -3 station. That's actually pretty good news considering I
haven't had any really strong contractions and I'm still feeling
great. We are definitely making progress and he said that it's
GREAT that she is so low already.
We will go back on Monday (if I haven't had the
baby yet) and if we have made more progress (2-3 cm) then we will
be scheduled for induction on Tuesday. If not, then I will go
back later in the week, but my OB thinks I will either go into
labor on my own pretty soon OR we'll be able to induce on the
1st. So, it seems we'll be holding our sweet baby girl within
a week. WOW!!
All looks great, so stay tuned for more news. We'll do our best
to keep the website as updated as we can.

Week 38 OB Update
We had our 38 week check-up with
the OB today and there isn't much to report except that baby and
I are still doing great. She is still in the head-down position
and is getting ready for the big day...whenever that is. Her heartbeat
is also nice and strong, so all is well with our sweet baby girl.
Things are great with me too - blood pressure is good and everything
else is looking good too. We are all (Mickey, OB and I) hopeful
that the BIG DAY wiill come next week, but, of course, no one
even has a good guess at this point. My next appointment is on
the 26th, but we're hoping I don't have to go in for that one.
So, stay tuned...more info as we get it.
June 11, 2003
Just wanted to give
you all an update for week 37. We had an ultrasound and regular
weekly OB appointment today and both went great. The ultrasound
was first and I got to see our sweet girl all bunched up inside
- it was just amazing to see! Her head, per the tech, is "way
down", so that's a very good sign. HOORAY...she's not breech!
All her measurements are great as well. She is measuring in the
70th percentile which my OB says is really good because you want
to stay below 90th (BIG baby) and above 10th. So, while she is
still measuring to be pretty big (guesstimate at this point is
7lb 5oz), she is right on schedule. Baby's heartrate today was
around the usual - 130s or so. My OB says he is hopeful that we'll
go into labor between weeks 39-40 and won't go late. At any rate,
he won't let us go past one week overdue and we (ever-so-briefly)
mentioned the 6th of July as an induction date if it comes to
that. With any luck, our sweet baby girl will decide to come on
her own before then, of course. We're just really ready to meet
her, hold her, hug her, kiss her, spoil her...y'all know the drill.
(SMILE)
I still feel REALLY good on the whole. I have some swelling in
my feet, so I am supposed to be resting as much as I can. I'm
not on strict "bed-rest", but I am to be taking it easy,
so that's not a problem. I can't get over how good I feel on the
whole and hope this continues through the last days of the pregnancy.
It's been so amazing and I am going to miss parts of pregnancy
- like feeling her movements, etc., but more than that we are
just ready to meet our daughter.
More updates soon...probably
next week after the OB appointment.

June 8, 2003
We had a VERY good OB visit on Friday.
He said everything is looking great. Hooray! We go back this coming
Wednesday and will get to have an ultrasound to make sure that
the baby isn't breech, etc. We are both looking forward to another
ultrasound because, of course, it's always just amazing to see
her in there. Not much longer 'til we get to meet our daughter
- WOW!! Her due date is about three weeks away now and my OB has
said he won't let us go more than a week overdue. So, within a
month, we'll be meeting her at long last. It's just so amazing.
Thanks to all of you who are keeping us in your thoughts and prayers...we
appreciate them all.
More updates soon...stay tuned.

Prayer For
My Unborn Child
Bless this child inside my
womb
As she grows stronger each day
Keep her in thy loving care
Watch over her I pray
With much anticipation
We're awaiting her arrival
And depending upon You Father
For this tiny one's survival
We'll love her endlessly
And care for her our very best
She'll be our pride and joy
This child with which we're blessed
Help us to remember
She really is Your child
You've put her in our home
For just a little while
Lord please bless our family
With favors from above
As we grow in size
May we also grow in love
Isn't that poem amazing? I borrowed it from a
friend. I just love it...it's perfect.
I hope to have a good update tomorrow after our
OB appointment. Less than a month to go now...we hope. WOO HOO!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!! I hope everyone
is having a great and very safe long holiday weekend.
We have about 5 weeks to go now until
the due date. It's so hard to believe that it's getting so close.
There's definitely a mix of excitement, some nervousness, and
anticipation in our house. We are very ready to meet our precious
daughter, of course! So far I'm still feeling great on the whole.
I have to take it a bit more easy than I am used to, but that's
okay...I can handle it since it's good for the baby and for me.
I am in that "nesting" phase where I can think of ten
thousand things to do, so I better come up with a list to get
us all organized or I'll try too hard and run myself ragged. HA!!
Today is also my birthday. I can't
believe how fast they roll around. I'm the big 2-9 today...my
last year of being in my twenties. What's really cool about today
is that I remember my first doctor's appointment after finding
out I was pregnant and they asked how old I would be at delivery
and I said "29" which at that time seemed SO far away
and now it's here. WOW!! Our baby really will be here in a few
weeks. Whether's she's a bit early, right on time or a bit late...the
time is still very close. HOORAY!!
Stay tuned for more details and such.
Thanks for visiting our site.

We had a GREAT check-up with the
OB today. Hooray! I haven't gained any weight since the last visit
(woo hoo!), my BP is normal, the baby's heart rate was nice strong,
and my belly is measuring just right for 34 weeks. So, all is
going great. It's hard to believe we have about 6 weeks now (+/-)
to go until we finally get to meet our precious daughter. WOW!!

I'm such a slacker lately, huh? Sorry
for the delay in updates. Not much is going on except that I'm
growing and glowing more every day it seems. Well, I hope I am
glowing as much as I am growing. In fact, if you want to see how
much I'm growing, just check out the Belly
Shots page.
Oh yea...we now have the glider rocker
in the nursery thanks to my dad and Dorothy. Hooray! So, things
are moving right along in the nursery. Maybe I will be able to
post new pictures soon.
I will try my best not to be so delayed
with updates in the future.

April 11, 2003
Two updates in one week...what is
this world coming to? HA! I just had to post the new nursery pictures
since I finally got around to painting the ceiling today. So,
without further delay...here we go...
First of all, the crib:

The dresser, which will eventually
have a changing station temporarily affixed to the top:

The ceiling:
And, looking into the room at the crib - you can see the ceiling
in this one too:
Clearly, the nursery is a work in
progress still, but it's coming right along. We're excited to
have it started and can't wait to get it all fixed up for our
precious baby girl.
In other news, I had my OB visit
yesterday and things are going great. We had another ultrasound
and Baby Mellen looks great - she is actually a week ahead of
schedule, so maybe we'll have a June baby and I won't have to
go into HOT July big and pregnant. It's all in God's hands, so
whenever our sweetheart arrives, of course, we will be thrilled!
That's it for now...
Kelly

I missed last week's update...sorry.
Didn't have all that much to report, I guess. I do have a pretty
fun update this week, it's the BELLY
SHOTS page. This page basically documents the growth
of my pregnant belly.
As soon as we get things situated
a little more in the nursery, I'll post the real pictures.
And, in other big news...no pun intended...we
are officially into the third trimester. As of today, I'm 28 weeks
along so we have about 12 weeks (more or less) to go. It's all
flying by now. The first trimester was LONG, but the second went
by so quickly. I'm still feeling GREAT, so I hope it's all smooth
sailing from here 'til the big birthday.
Stay tuned for updates and details.
Don't forget to sign our guest book...we love seeing signatures
in there, even repeats. (SMILE)

March 25, 2003
Today is my Gran's birthday and even
though she is NEVER on the internet, here is a "Happy Birthday
Wish" to her from Mickey, Baby Mellen and me. (SMILE)
Not much to report this week except
that the baby surely is moving a lot lately. She goes through
some really active times that are so cool! I am loving this part
of the pregnancy, to be honest. It just makes it all seem more
"real" when I feel her move. Of course, having the big
belly makes it more real too. HA!
Got the nursery painted over the
weekend, so now we are ready to add furniture and then get it
all accessorized before our sweet baby girl arrives. We painted
the walls yellow and left the trim white. The ceiling is sky blue
and I will sponge-paint clouds on there to look like the sky as
soon as I get a chance and find the creativity in this tired brain
of mine. Here are some preliminary pictures of what we have done
with it so far:

Looking into the nursery from the door
Facing the closet - those doors might have to
be re-stained.
So, as you all can see, it's a work
in progress, but it's coming right along. We are very happy with
the way it's looking so far. Mickey worked REALLY hard getting
the old border down in there and he did the ceiling all by himself
too - such a great daddy and a real trooper!!
Oh and here is a shot of the bedding
items that Jack and Gran ordered for us. They looks SO much cuter
in person, actually. The set is called "Love Bugs" and
it's by Lambs & Ivy. The set really coordinates with the nursery
colors we picked - we can hardly wait to get it all set up!!

The quilt set...you can't tell much detail in
this shot though. And, no, that is not our crib...we don't have
one yet, but are leaning toward cherry wood for the nursery furniture.

A bit more detail here in the shot of the fitted
sheet. The design has dragonflies, lady bugs and butter flies.
It's adorable in person!

The Diaper Hang
And, the musical mobile.
CUTE, huh?? We really like the set
and are so excited about how the nursery is going to come together
once we get it all done.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
I'll post another update soon...probably with updated belly shots.

March 18, 2003
Good news...I passed the gestational
diabetes test! YEA!! Depending on which source you go by, the
number to stay below is between 135-140 and my level was 111.
HOORAY! I'm definitely happy about that because if you don't pass,
the next test is three hours long and requires three needle sticks
to draw blood for testing. No thanks, I'll pass. (HA!)
After my next appointment, I start
going to the OB every two weeks. It's hard to believe that we
are getting that far along. As of today we are at 25 weeks, so
we have approximately 15 more weeks if we go to full term at 40
weeks. Only God knows for sure when our sweet angel will arrive,
so we'll do our best to be patient until then.
And...the nursery is going to be
painted this weekend. Mickey and I picked up the paint tonight
and he's going to work on it this weekend. I hope to post pictures
VERY soon.
Have a great week...

Big news to report...our sweet baby
girl is moving a lot these days. In fact, Mickey has gotten to
feel her kick quite a few times. She is really living up to the
Mia (Hamm) nickname. According to this week's update from Baby
Center , she should be about 1.25 pounds and growing steadily.
It's hard to believe she could be so small and yet so active.
Every bit of this is just amazing! We are now into the 6th month
and getting ready to enter the third trimester in a few weeks.
It's all going by fast!! Feeling REALLY good these days - not
sick at all, not too big yet...life is grand! My next OB appointment
is on Wednesday and I have the glucose tolerance test (for gestational
diabetes), so let's hope I pass that with flying colors.
I will update again soon.
Love, Kelly
March 3, 2003
Sorry about the delay in updates.
Not all that much new to report...just that Baby Girl and I are
both GROWING. I get a weekly update from BabyCenter
and according to this week's update for week 23 (which starts
tomorrow), she should be just over a pound right now. That little
girl of ours is GROWING!! Once in awhile she gives me a good swift
kick too and lets me know she is in there and doing fine. Mostly
I get smaller movements, but sometimes she really gives me a big
soccer kick and is quickly earning herself the nickname "Mia"
for Mia Hamm the soccer player.
Here's how much I am growing...this
is a compilation of "belly shots" that have been taken:

Quite a difference between weeks
15 and now, huh? I said I was growing and I wasn't kidding. (SMILE)
That's all for now. Stay tuned for
more updates to come.

We had the BIG ultrasound
appointment today. Baby Mellen is doing GREAT...growing on schedule,
strong heartbeat...everything looks really good. We also found
out today that Baby Mellen is a GIRL!
Needless to say, we would have been just as thrilled
